Logging in to StackR with a third-party wallet — where your tokens actually live
When you sign in to StackR using a third-party wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Exodus, Phantom, etc.), that wallet is only used as the login key for your StackR account. StackR creates its own embedded smart wallet for that account on the Base network, and all your assets live there — not in the third-party wallet you signed in with.
This trips a lot of people up after a sale: "I sold a collectible but my MetaMask is empty." That's expected — the OMI went to your StackR embedded smart wallet, which is a different on-chain address.
What this means in practice
- Sale proceeds and purchases (OMI, USDC, ETH) land in your StackR embedded smart wallet, not in MetaMask / Coinbase Wallet / Exodus / etc.
- The StackR smart wallet has its own address — visible at the top of StackR → Wallet. It is different from your third-party wallet's address.
- The third-party wallet is only the signing key that authorizes your StackR account. It does not hold your StackR balance.
Buying on the marketplace — tokens must be in your StackR wallet first
For the same reason, you cannot pay for a marketplace purchase with tokens that are sitting in your third-party wallet. The marketplace can only spend what's in your StackR embedded smart wallet. If your OMI / USDC is still in MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Exodus, etc., move it to your StackR wallet first:
- Copy your StackR wallet address from the top of StackR → Wallet.
- In your third-party wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Exodus, etc.), send the OMI / USDC / ETH to that StackR address. Pick the Base network.
- Wait ~30 seconds for the transfer to confirm; the balance will then show in StackR → Wallet.
- You can now buy on the marketplace.
Where to find your tokens
Open StackR → Wallet. Your OMI, USDC, ETH and collectibles all show there. Your StackR wallet address is displayed at the top of the view.
To move funds out to your third-party wallet
- Open StackR → Wallet.
- Tap the token (OMI / USDC / ETH).
- Tap Send and paste your MetaMask / Coinbase Wallet / Exodus / etc. address. Pick the Base network.
- Confirm.
Why it works this way
StackR uses Privy smart accounts so we can subsidize gas, batch operations and run the marketplace smoothly. Your third-party wallet acts as the key that controls the smart account; the smart account itself is where the assets live.
